General

What is Naked Sundays?

We are an SPF-first Aussie skincare brand dedicated to changing the conversation around SPF by creating game-changing skin-loving, multi-purpose products all with SPF 50+.

We are designed to be worn specifically over or under your makeup strictly without whitecast, stickiness or that harsh sunscreen smell.

We've also worked our butts off to ensure that we are devoid of oxybenzone, parabens, mineral oils, sulfates (SLS/SLES), GMOs, petrolatum or synthetic colours. Our creme & lotions are 100% fragrance free too.

Are your products vegan & cruelty free?

Yes, ALL of our products are 100% vegan and of course, cruelty free.

Where does Naked Sundays manufacture products?

Naked Sundays is made at multiple globally compliant labs. Naked Sundays uses a variety of TGA & FDA accredited manufacturers both in Australia and the USA to ensure Global Regulations are adhered & protocols are strictly followed. Products in the USA & Canada are mostly manufactured in the US at our partner labs.

What is the expiry on your products?

All SPF products have a minimum of 6 months usage before they expire. Always check the expiry date on the packaging of your product; for your safety, SPF should not be used after this date.

Note, in the event a product does not have an expiry date, please refer to the POA (Period After Opening) symbol.

If you believe you have received a product with under 6 months left until expiry, please reach out to our customer care team at info@nakedsundays.com

Do you ship to Canada? What are the duties and taxes involved?

Yes, we do ship to Canada. However, we do not cover duties & taxes incurred during transit/delivery.

Usage

Are your sunscreens pregnancy safe?

We are formulated without oxybenzone or parabens, but we suggest you talk to your doctor about what sunscreen is best for you during your pregnancy.

Products & Testing

What type of Zinc is in your mineral sunscreens?

All our mineral products use non-nano Zinc Oxide as the sunscreen active. BeautyScreen and other mineral products containing Zinc Oxide use a coated Zinc.

Can I travel with the Hydrating Glow Mist Top Up Spray SPF50?

We would recommend you check with your chosen airline prior to travelling to be safe, however our Hydrating Glow Mist should comply with the international liquid limit (100ml per item).

Just be sure to pop it into a clear zip-lock liquids bag, keep the lid is on tight (she’s precious!) and keep it handy for screening if packing in your carry-on.

Concern about Benzene

You may have heard about some SPFs being recalled in the US due to high levels of Benzene. Unlike some countries around the world, sunscreens are considered medicines in Australia. As part of the regulation process, the ingredients used to make our sunscreens must comply with tight specifications and regulations that don’t allow benzene traces. Fragrances that are known to contain carcinogens like benzene that are used in room deodorants and surface sprays, are not allowed to be used in Australian sunscreens.

Concerns about Benzophenone

All of our products that contain octocrylene - which the TGA does not consider poses a safety risk when the sunscreens are used as directed - are screened for benzophenone at the point of manufacture and there is none present at the point of release. While the appearance of benzophenone happens over a long period of time, our sunscreens have strict shelf life expiry dates and like any product with an expiry date, should not be used beyond that date.

Naked Sundays independent SPF & UVA Testing

All Naked Sundays Sunscreens are Validated Through Independent, Multi-Laboratory Testing for Broad Spectrum SPF & UVA Efficacy

At Naked Sundays we are always completely transparent with our testing methodology, which adheres to the strict standards set forth by the TGA & FDA.

Every sunscreen we sell is independently tested, some at multiple accredited laboratories before any labeling is finalised, and to verify the accuracy of the tests.

Most of our products are tested multiple times to ensure we adhere to international regulatory requirements. There are up to FIVE types of independent tests that where appropriate, our products undergo, before we are able to list them on the TGA or FDA, including;

  1. SPF Test – ISO 24444 (AS/NZS 2604:2012):
This internationally recognized method, based on the Australian/New Zealand standard, determines the product's SPF rating to measure UVB protection.
  2. SPF Test – FDA Static Method:
Conducted according to the U.S. FDA guidelines, this test verifies the product's SPF under controlled, static conditions.
  3. UVA Test – FDA Broad Spectrum Method (21 CFR 201.327(j):
An in-vitro test that measures UVA Protection Factor (UVA-PF) to confirm compliance with FDA requirements for broad-spectrum protection.
  4. UVA Test – ISO 24443:2021:
This standardized in-vitro method determines the level of UVA protection to support PA ratings and international labeling standards.
  5. Water Resistance Test – ISO 24444 (AS/NZS 2604:2012):
For applicable products, this in-vivo test measures SPF performance after 80 minutes of water immersion, verifying water resistance claims. (For a selection of products)
